Scouts at Iqra Real Islamic School | Developing Good Citizens
Scouting is a global movement that aims to educate young people in the values of citizenship, service, and character. Scouting is also a fun and adventurous way to learn new skills, make new friends, and explore the world. At Iqra Real Islamic School, we offer Scouting programs for boys and girls from age 6 to 25, following the guidelines of the Pakistan Boy Scouts Association and the Pakistan Girl Guides Association. Our Scouts participate in various activities such as camping, hiking, community service, vocational training, and religious education. Our Scouts also learn to respect Allah, their country, and their fellow human beings, regardless of race, creed, or color. In this page, we will introduce you to our Scouting sections and their achievements.
Shaheen Section
The Shaheen Section is for boys and girls aged 6 to 11. The word Shaheen means falcon in Urdu, and it symbolizes the high aspirations and ambitions of our young Scouts. The motto of the Shaheen Section is Buland Parwaz, which means high flight. The Shaheen Section follows a progressive program that consists of three stages: First Sitara (Star), Second Sitara, and Third Sitara. Each stage has its own requirements and badges that the Shaheen must complete. The highest rank badge in the Shaheen Section is the Allama Iqbal Scout Badge, named after the national poet of Pakistan who was also a great admirer of Scouting. The Shaheen Section meets every Saturday from 9:00 am to 11:00 am at the school premises. Some of the activities that the Shaheen Section enjoys are:
- Learning about nature and animals
- Singing songs and playing games
- Making crafts and models
- Visiting museums and parks
- Celebrating national and religious festivals
Scout Section
The Scout Section is for boys and girls aged 11 to 17. The word Scout means someone who is always ready to face any challenge or opportunity. The motto of the Scout Section is Be Prepared, which means being prepared in mind and body to do your duty to Allah and your country. The Scout Section follows a progressive program that consists of three stages: Ittehad (Unity), Tanzim (Organization), and Yaqeen (Faith). Each stage has its own requirements and badges that the Scout must complete. The highest rank badge in the Scout Section is the Quaid-e-Azam Scout Badge, named after the founder of Pakistan who was also a keen supporter of Scouting. The Scout Section meets every Saturday from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm at the school premises. Some of the activities that the Scout Section enjoys are:
- Learning first aid and survival skills
- Camping and hiking in different terrains
- Performing community service and social work
- Acquiring vocational skills and career guidance
- Participating in national and international events
Rover Section
The Rover Section is for young men and women aged 17 to 25. The word Rover means someone who is adventurous and independent. The motto of the Rover Section is Service, which means serving Allah, your country, and your fellow human beings with sincerity and dedication. The Rover Section follows a progressive program that consists of two stages: Hamdam (Companion) and Istiqlal (Independence). Each stage has its own requirements and badges that the Rover must complete. The highest rank badge in the Rover Section is the President Rover Scout Badge, named after the President of Pakistan who is also the Chief Scout of Pakistan. The Rover Section meets every Saturday from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm at the school premises. Some of the activities that the Rover Section enjoys are:
- Developing leadership and management skills
- Organizing events and projects for social causes
- Exploring different cultures and religions
- Traveling and networking with other Rovers
- Mentoring younger Scouts and Shaheens
